Door reassembly

Is there a certain sequence of what components go back in first? i.e. do the vent windows go in before the door glass? do I install the lock and latching mechanism before the glass or after? Just don't want to get one group of parts in and have to take them back out to install something that should have went in prior.

Re: Door reassembly

I would install the locks and hardware, and put the door glass in, and vent last.

Re: Door reassembly

door locks and hardware then vent window with rubber attached the leaving the bolts out of the bottom of the window tracks, next put the regulator in, not bolted, just the crank through the hole. then attach the inside roller on the track on the door and then by cranking the window back and forth the other two rollers will slide right in, then crank it until the bolt holes line up and bolt it in. assuming you have manual windows.

This is th e sequence that worked for me! Although I had a regulator already in the door shell that I had purchased, so that COULD go in ahead of time.

Biggest struggle I had was trying to get the side glass onto the regulator. Had a real hard timer getting the rollers into the channel how they needed to be. Almost gave up and walked away a couple times, but then all of a sudden it went smoothly, not exactly what I did different that time.

Wasn't mentioned in the steps, but obviously the window felts/sweeps are last in the assembly process. There would not have been a way to get enough range of motion to install the side glass, I don't think, if the outer sweep would have been in-place. And the inner is on the door panel, so it's not really an issue.
