Whats this relay and wires for? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Electrics are like the black arts for me, so I need your help in identifying what's going on here.

What is that relay box for?
Can you say from the pic if it's still in use?
Why are those wires joined together?
Did they originally run to that box?

That is an external voltage regulator. The wires are grouped together because someone has converted the truck to an internal regulated alternator. It's good.

Thanks Boog....i've been meaning to post that pic and ask since i've had my truck, I like the bit at the end were you say "it's good" thats what I was hopeing for
