Exclamation Fuel tank from a JEEP

Hi, I saw a thread the other day (forgot to bookmarket it), where this guy uses a tank from a JEEP is a 15-16 gallon tank, does any one remembers the thread, I am looking for the year and model of the jeep that tank came from, he was also doing an engine swap, so the tank has a baffle.

Thanks

Re: Fuel tank from a JEEP

Don't know the thread, but I do believe that just about any YJ, TJ, or LJ tank would work with minor modifications for hangers.

Just be aware that the Jeep sending unit won't work with your original gas gauge.

Re: Fuel tank from a JEEP

The CJ tanks look like they might fit, but I don't have actual experience. I found a late 60's International Scout II tank that was a good fit for the rear rails (when I still had them)

I've replaced a few tanks & pumps before, but that was factory r&r stuff, nothing custom...what style/electrical layout sending unit is needed to work with our original gauge?
Thanks!

Whoops - I was partially misinformed!

IT is from a Scout II, I had the year wrong! It is this tank:

0-30 ohm output for the 66; I retrofit a 66 Chevelle pickup & sending unit to my scout II tank.

Re: Fuel tank from a JEEP

Yep, these trucks use a 0-30 ohm fuel sender. I don't know what ohm range Jeep is using on that application, but I am certain it is not 0-30 ohms. As an example, a '98 TJ uses a 220-20 ohms fuel sender.

Sounds like it might be the 'coffin' from the FSJ's -- something like this:

I might want to read the thread first.. nvm. <_<
