Push button Starter
I'm going to install a push button on my truck, but what wire do I install it on?

One of the wires coming from your ignition switch goes to the starter solenoid. You will have to disconnect that wire from the ign. switch and connect it to your starter button. Then you will need to get power from someplace and connect it to the other side of your button.

can always just run you a wire from your battery to your switch an then a wire from your starter sol. to your switch. thats how i did mine. then you aint got any bad wires in between

locate a hot wire and your starter wire. to find ignition hot take a multimeter and ground it with the key turned on.

Is your ignition switch bad in the steering column? I would replace the ignition switch. It's not that bad, and most parts stores rent the necessary tools for the job.
IMHO, push button switches make it even that much easier for thieves.
