70's era theme parts

So I'm doing a 70's theme on Bertha my blazer. I've got the raked stance, cragar ss wheels, glasspacks, formula 500 steering wheel and mooneyes footpedal.

Am I miss anything that was common in that era?

Re: 70's era theme parts

I don't know about VT, but in So Cal it would have needed a cassette player (either in-dash with an underdash amp/equalizer or an underdash Craig Powerplay). 8 track players were also still very common in the late 1970's.

Union 76 Orange antenna ball, Carl's Jr. table numbers lined up along the dash, USA-1 front license plate, 8-ball shift knob, blue window tint, Hawaiian floral leis or puka shells hanging from the rearview mirror, etc.

A CB radio and rear window gun rack were standard for pickups.

I have the interior done, except for the stereo which will be a more modern version, but mostly hidden.. It has a black carpet and black and red houndstooth seats.

Thank God.

@Hubscrub...no Hardee's here. Back in "the day", it was cool to swipe the CJ numbers and put them on your dash. Why? I have no idea.

White letters on tires? Generally uncool unless they were true race tires (Goodyear NASCAR Eagles, M&H slicks, etc.) in which case the letters were painted on.

The preferred exhaust dump was either turndowns in front of the rear axle (turbo muffler rumble) or chrome turndowns right behind the rear tires. Straight out under the rear bumper was considered lame (or worse).

Re: 70's era theme parts

Can't remember that much about the late 60's or early 70's.

I do remember having a reverb hooked up in my '64 Corvair Spyder in the late 60's.

I have thought about getting a couple of drive-in movie speakers and hanging them on the doors in my '67.

Yosamite Sam,or Trucking mudflaps are required on this era truck.Rod and reel rack or gunracks were done on the side windows in Blazers.Don't forget the small chrome mudguards by the front wheels. And a Bumper sticker that says"Don't laugh, your daughter may be inside"
