1964 C10 with 3-speed, 327 engine from 69 Camaro

Hi, I am new to the board. Does anyone know whether a 327 engine from a 1969 Camaro would bolt right up to the 3-speed trans of a 1964 C10 that currently has a 292 engine? Could I use the stock engine mounts from either the 64 C10 or the 69 Camaro?

Welcome to the forum

Yes a 327 will bolt right up to the bellhousing that the 292 was bolted to. I don't think the flywheel from the 292 will bolt up correctly to the 327. You will likely need a flywheel from another small block. The motor mount brackets for the 292 are offset, whereas the small block and 230/250 brackets are all the same. If you need a set of original mount brackets that will work with your 327, let me know. The motor mounts from the Camaro will not work in the truck.

Thanks for the help. My son and I actually got the 292 running today, and it runs smooth. He's only 15 and gets his license in April. I may let him run the 292 for now, then throw in the 327 later. You guys are great.

Motor perches are different for the 292 and everything else, you would need to source some SB or small 6cyl mounts. You could also go with aftermarket perches.

I have a pair of them if your interested.
