ID OEM VS re-pop side molding

Is there an easy way to identify OEM VS re-pop side molding for a LWB Cheyenne Super? The molding is not in the original packaging.

If it is the lower woodgrain molding, post some pics. Some people can tell the difference of the shade/grain of the woodgrain.

No pics. I can't get the guy to take any. He says it came off a truck that was restored about 10 years ago. He believes they are OEM pieces.

If the guy won't take any pics then I would walk away. Something fishy!
I know if I was selling something and the buyer wanted pics I would take them!

Re: ID OEM VS re-pop side molding

I don't think it is fishy. Even if it is re-pop stuff the price is right. He will meet me and let me put my hands on it first. Soo... back to the original question:

Is there a way to tell if it is re-pop or OEM without the packaging?

There are folks on this forum that can easily tell. I restored my original stuff but had to buy two small repop pieces of lower. I can't tell the difference. I also had to replace the wood grain.
If you are going for Concourse or you are completely anal (Like I've been accused of) then original is the way to go. I have more than a few repop parts on mine and no one has ever busted me.

Re: ID OEM VS re-pop side molding

Not going for concourse. I just prefer original over reproductions. I was planning to restore my original stuff but this seems to be a great deal and would save me tons of time. Guess I'm going to pull the trigger on it tomorrow as long as it looks good in person.

Feel free to keep the comments coming. I will not be going to look until tomorrow.

Anyone else have suggestions for ID'ing this stuff before I head out? Leaving here in about an hour.

Re: ID OEM VS re-pop side molding

Didn't work out. It was not a complete set and it was in no better condition than what I already have.
