Sb 400

I have a 400 engine that I am not going to use and would rather sell it than see it go to waste.

A little history...

I built it for an 81 K10 I was restoring, it has less than 1000 miles on it. I was tuning a new carb in my shop and a head gasket let go. It never got over 180during it's life on the road and was at 170ish when it let go. the motor was shut off and pulled out shortly after that. I pulled the plugs and rotated it to make sure no mositure was in the cylcinders and sprayed a shot of WD40 in there for good measure. It has sat for over a year and I have decided that when I start back up on my 70 C10 that I am going LSX, so I won't be using this engine.

I bought a shelf brand head gasket set when it was built and I should have waited until they had fel-pro in stock again but I wanted it running....live and learn.

Now for the specs:

.010 2 bolt block (casting #330817)
Stock heads completely rebuilt
268 Blue Racer Cam (noticeable lope, great torque)
New balancer/flex plate (at time of rebuild)
New water pump (at time of rebuild)
New alternator (at time of rebuild)
10K Flex fan (one small bend on one blade...caught a wrench while running)Edelbrock manifold

No distributor or carb, basically a long block with an intake. I do have a q-jet that needs a rebuild if buyer wants it.

Sorry for the long post, I just want to be up front and honest with everyone.

Id like to get $600 obo, pickup only please. I know it hurts my chance of selling, but just throwing it up here.

Thanks

Re: Sb 400

Price too steep? I'm open to resonable offers, I will be needing my engine stand soon.

Price isn't too steep for me, but the mileage is a little far. Free bump for you though.

Re: Sb 400

Man if I only had the money I would make the trip to pick it up.

As I am wanting a nice small block and this sound just about right.

Good luck with the sale.
