What Else Do I Need For This Upgrade?

I am about to install my new Booster Brake System that I bought from a Board Member .
First Picture is of all the new parts I bought .
Second Picture is what I have now that I am taking out an replacing with the New .

Any advise on how to go about this is appreciated and/or parts I need would help me from running back and forth to town which is some 20 miles ..

I know I need a boot for the firewall ,,but can I use the one I have that is in the firewall now or do I need to get a Specific one for the booster set . How about the rubber hose length and the fitting for it ? things like that will help me get the things I need ..

Looks to me like the rod that goes in the front of the booster is not there. It is what actually compresses the master. It may be what it zip tied to the rod at the back of the booster. Hopefully someone else will chime in. You may need the wire extension for the wire that goes to the proportioning valve.

I took my entire brake system apart a few months ago and it looks like you have everything you need except the vacuum hose. Make sure you bench bleed the master cylinder before you mount it.

yep looks like you have everything. dont forget to bleed the m/c, and the rest of the system. I had trouble bleeding mine after switching to power. it was the brake pedal to rod angle or ratio. Will worry about that if you cant get the system to bleed.

Re: What Else Do I Need For This Upgrade?

You will need the rubber boot for power booster in the fire wall. The manual brake part will not fit.

The rod from the booster to the MC is not in the picture.

Do you still have drum brakes? Drum brakes need to have residual valves. If the MC is for drum/drum, the residual valves should be in the outlets.

If the MC is a disc/disc, you will need in-line valves for the drum brakes (10 lb.).

The vac hose must BE VACUUM hose. Regular hose can suck flat and disable the booster.

I have disc/drum proportioning valve and the master cylinder is made for this set up.. I will get a true vacuum hose ,,and this is the rod that was tied to the booster rod in my picture ..

So, I do need a rubber boot that is made for a booster only and I cannot use the one in my truck now without a booster?

Is this the rod you are talking about? thx for your advice..

That rod is a little different than mine but so it the booster. Mine also has a rubber washer looking seal that went on the rod. If that was ordered as a kit I bet that rod is the right one. Hopefully someone else will chime in to confirm.

One other thing, Some of those masters have fittings on both side so you can route the brake lines to the left or right of the master. If yours is that way there will more than likely be plugs in the side that is closest to the motor. Be sure to check that those plugs are tight. Mine were not.

Re: What Else Do I Need For This Upgrade?

Ah, missed the rod.

mrhino has the right picture.

I would still examine the rear brake port for a residual valve. As President Reagan used to say, "Trust, but varify."

I knew I needed a boot and found out by posting that I needed a boot specific for a power booster set up..and I found on page 78 of classic catalog a boot ,,but it is not the one you have shown in the picture you posted, any reason why the difference?

Re: What Else Do I Need For This Upgrade?

I believe that is the seal that goes in the front of the booster, behind the master and the small rod goes through the middle of it.
