Anyone know if this will fit?

I am looking into buying a used truck cap. According to a chart I found, I think it might be a little over 1" too long. I think the taper from front to back might be the same, but want to know if anyone has any experience with this. The truck cap is off of a 2002 extended cab chevy, going on my 96 extended cab GMC. Both are short bed trucks.

Has anyone done this?

I'd stick with one made for your bodystyle. Each bodystyle has its differences in bed dimensions and odds are it wouldn't quite line up right.

Yeah, I kinda figured it wouldn't fit perfect. But I just want something for the winter, and this thing is cheap and nice. Same color as my truck. I was just curious if anyone has done this or seen it done. I could probably get the seller to let me set it on my truck first if I decide to do it.

Well, if it's only temporary and you don't care about it not fitting exactly right, then I'm sure it would "work" and do the intended job. I doubt the differences would be THAT much to cause any real issues beyond aesthetics.
