Re: Looking for a fleetside short bed (newbie)

i'll take pics of it during the week after the hurricane is gone, the drivers side of the bed has a huge hole in the center front, and the framing of the bottom of the bed is pretty much gone

Welcome to the forum Domo. Your best bet on finding a clean bed is search out of your area where they don't use salt on the roads. You may have to travel some to get what you need, but rust free beds can still be found.

Re: Looking for a fleetside short bed (newbie)

Highly recommend (if you can't find one by then) that you attend the next Carlisle event (I believe the truck event has passed - but the gent I'm referring to usually is at the truck, spring, and fall shows). There is a guy that comes there with an absolute ton of chev truck sheet metal. He's hard to miss - it's a stack of doors and hoods and bed parts as far as the eye can see.

I grabbed the info off his card - Hey - he's local to you! (this is the guy that always has tons of sheetmetal at Carlisle - very nice and helpful guy)

Re: Looking for a fleetside short bed (newbie)

I have bought from him, X2 on nice and helpful. I thought he was a little high price wise. But he always has first quality stuff. Have you considered replacing the sides, or building another bed. He had a bunch of bed sides for our trucks with him, at the truck show in Carlisle. I didn't need sides so I am unsure if he had any short sides. He also told me he has many times this at his yard in AZ, Even if he doesn't have now I bet he can get it.
