What would you offer on this 62 LWB
Hey guys,
I would like to get your input on how much to offer for this truck. I pass it whenever I am back in town to visit my parents in law. The pictures below were taken from the road, and as you can see , it appears to be a 1962 Long bed C10 with the big back window. I would like to get to it before someone offers to haul it off to the scrap yard. I want this primarily for parts, as it looks too rusty to be a project truck (for me). I believe 1962’s have a few one year only parts like the grill and turn signals. Being new to these trucks, it is difficult for me to put a value on the truck as a whole. Thanks, James ![]() ![]() |

I'd toss out $300 while expecting to pay $500. It really depends on what parts you plan to keep.

Or see what they have in mind to get out of it and go from there.

Tell him you'll haul away the plants growing away for free if you don't have to come back with the truck. It's a big window, BUT, appears that everything below that big window is rusted to pieces.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking $300 bucks, which I think would be a little bit more than what the scrap value would be.

Re: What would you offer on this 62 LWB
I would say the $300 to $500 range is about right. I paid $400 for a equally rusty 4X4 long bed by Slippery Rock, and $650 for relatively rust free 4x4 in Ohio last year. Neither of mine have the big back window though. I took the parts I wanted or were worth saving off of the $400 truck, cut it up and sold the scrap for around $200. Just remember I doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck.
