Fleetside filler panels

Does anyone know who sells the fleetside filler panels that go between the bumper and the bed sill?

Re: Fleetside filler panels

That's good to know! I couldn't find anyone that was reproducing them a couple years ago when I restored a '65. Had to borrow a pair from a friend to use as patterns and make my own. I wound up buying the truck that the gold pan came from a couple months ago, funny how things work out!

As far as I know, they were factory. Can't remember if my other fleetside had them or not.

Re: Fleetside filler panels

I wonder if they were an accessory item or stock. I've never seen them before - cool. One more thing to add on the truck. BTW what was the purose of having them?

Re: Fleetside filler panels

Probably just to hide the brackets.

Not for sure the purpose of the 4 little indent circles are for (those are not holes). Possibly to slightly hold it off the bracket when it's mounted. Maybe they did 4 so it would be correct for either side!?

Re: Fleetside filler panels

Maybe only the "Custom" trucks had them.
According to the build sheet, I have a Custom cab.

Re: Fleetside filler panels

i always heard them called rock gaurds and the main reason they were used on other trucks were to keep rocks from kicking up from back tires chipping tailgate paint as they ricochet out of the bumpers.....but ive never seen them on these years before.
