POL Eng mounts and 350/350 not lining up

Just installed my new L31 350 with POL tubular mounts in the rear location and bolted up my 350 trans. Problem is the rear trans mount doesn't reach the holes in the xmember by 1/2 inch no matter what I do. I've made sure the eng mounts are as far back in their slotted holes as possable but still no good. I can almost get it if I remove the trans xmember bolts and slide it forward on it's slotted rear holes in the frame but then I'll have to drill/elongate the front xmember to frame holes. Origionally I had a 400sbc with stock mounts and the same trans and everything lined up. Is it the POL mounts? Anyone else have the 350/350 combo and POL mounts with similar problems.
