Wow, what a nice '65.

On our way to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, My daughter noticed some classic Camaro's in the grocery store parking lot. So we pulled in and a group was getting together before heading to the Camby car show. Among them was this '65.

This is the only picture I got before they drove off.

He bought the truck brand new in 1965. 283 auto with factory air and custom chrome trim. He drove the truck to work every day for 35 years. 11 years ago he redid the engine compartment and the truck was repainted a few years ago. The bed was perfect, wood was all original, and in the bed was his goodies box. He had framed the original sales contract with the picture of the truck the day he drove it home.

While I am building a very custom '66, I still have an appreciation for keeping things they way they were built. This truck was perfect. He changed the interior color to more of a saddle tan and recovered the seat in velour for comfort. The only things he felt the truck needed "fixing".

I just had to share. This was the nicest truck I have ever seen in person.

Re: Wow, what a nice '65.

There was one gorgeous like that in Haggan's OC parking lot a few years back, but I never took pics. It may be the same truck.
The guy had out for display all the original receipts from the dealership, along with an original showroom ad. The truck was perfect.

btw. For those not familiar with our area, I think jimmydean meant the town Canby.
typo....

Stupid auto correct, yes Canby. Likely the same truck. He was part of a Sherwood car club that had some very nice rides. He had all sorts of things in the box in the back. He just pulled out the contract real quick as they were just about to leave. I almost went with them, but we were planning our coast trip for a while.

That truck is a beauty. Cool story behind it, too.
