prerunner conversion
ok guys need a little help on my parts quest. the motor swap from hell is near its end and ive come to the decision of turning my 83 into a prerunner so i need help on finding long travel suspension for front, fiberglass bubble out fenders, and locking rear axle if im missing anything(other then roll cage ass.) let me know and any info on where to get these pre built if i can but if i have to have custom made oh well thanks.

Re: prerunner conversion
The suspension will have to be custom if you want long travel. Only thing available are coils, spacers, and may still A arms. The stock design does not allow long travel. There are/were 'glass fenders available. Check out Hanneman Fiberglass and Glassworks Unlimited. The locking rear axle should be easy... you can get spools/lockers are any 4x4 shop/retailer.

Re: prerunner conversion
You can take the i beams from an older ford truck and adapt the to the chevy frame, you will need control arms and the crossover steering set up, shocks/coil overs, limit straps, heims, longer brake lines, lots of fab work.
check out this place. dezertrangers.com lots of info. |
