2001 Tahoe LT Questions

I have several questions: The idle seems low, around 500 rpms sometimes less, mainly effect the efficiency of the A/C, is there a way to increase the idle? Also, ABS pump was humming after engine was turned off, I removed the fuse, but need to repair. what needs to be fixed? the controller on top? the pump it self? Last but not least, the rear passenger windows, seem to go down but won't go up. Do i just need to replace the motor? Or is it something else? Thanks for your help. The Tahoe is my daughters and has 158k miles with 5.3 engine.

Re: 2001 Tahoe LT Questions

hey cooper about the rpms take the air intake stuff off and get some carb. cleaner and shop towels, spray the butterfly inside and open the butterfly up and spray a lil then wipe it all off! that should help, i had the same problem on my wifes 2000 tahoe, it will increase the rpm back to like 6-750rpm! the rear passenger window regulator sounds like it going out and need to be replaced there not alot of $$ but it does take two people, one to hold the window up and the other to replace the regulator! you can buy just the window motor but for me it was hard to do the first time!! i learned from my lesson, if your wanting you just replace the motor you will need to take the whole thing out , the tracks and all then theres like spider gears the motor goes into and you need to hold them still or it can messe up the cable and it wont work going up or down!! i would run some fuel cleaner in the tahoe in the gas and in the oil just to help with any build up!! anyways hope this helps some, like i said i had to do the same to me wife 2000 tahoe but ours only has 115,000 mile on it now!

Re: 2001 Tahoe LT Questions

Thanks Chad. I'll try the carb cleaner. I'd bought some Lucas gas/injector cleaner hoping that will help too. Well I got the motors for the rear windows, seems like there is a premium for the rear regulator/motor combo - $244 vs $99 for the front. I'd changed out the motors on my 89 Bronco, hopefully it won't be any harder.
