Cool Factory tach

I have been on the look out for one of these but a little out of my price range.

Re: Cool Factory tach

Damn that's a lot of change for a tach. $1400 gets you a nice set of heads, or an AC, or a TIG, or new tires, or a decent rifle & scope....

crimeny. ygbsm. Apparently that's the only one ever made? (and it's STILL too much) I love these things as much as the next guy, but at some point, ya gotta say "it's just a truck (or car)". I'm going to go slap myself for even saying that....

I'd love to add an in dash tack for my '66 GMC. Does this fit into the large round opening to left of the speedometer? Currently, mine has a blank insert in that location.

Is the $225 for an aftermarket replacement or the rough value of a used one?

Thanks

Re: Cool Factory tach

$1400 for a used tach that's not perfect? I wouldn't pay that much for a Duesenberg tach!

Thank You, Barrett Jackson. You've turned $250 parts into $1400 parts.

So true!

That vintage tach is cool, no arguing that, but it's so damn small it's nearly useless. Better than nothing, but not much.

Same thing with original Stewart Warner tachometers, they too are cool but they don't have near the sweep of a "later" model tach. Blick your eyes at the wrong time and you're in oh-no zone.

And those Monster Tach's in an older vehicle, ugh, that's even worse.... a little moderation goes a long way.
