Spark plugs
I need suggestions, what plugs should I run? I have a 350 bored 30 over with flat top pistons, A mild performance cam, performer rpm manifold and elbrock 600 carb. 9.5/1 commpression. Thanks I'm getting closer to the big start up, and getting excited

Platinum plugs last a long time ....but are poor conductors of electricity
Copper plugs don't last as long....but conduct electricity far better Iridium plugs do both well .........but are't cheap Unobtainium are the ultimate but are known to be very "unobtainable" What kind of ignition are you running? Msd type boxes eat plugs, rotors and caps much faster than standard type ignitions. But they kick out some serious juice and have other benefits as well. I am not a big fan or heavily "profiled plugs" with all sorts of crazy gimmicky configurations .....all of these claim horsepower gains, faster starting and even gas mileage. I'v tried a few and didn't notice ****. My personal fav is NGK racing "v" power plugs ....not because of the "v" but because of all the heat ranges available for tuning. I believe there are five heat range options in just the chevy Gen 1 cast iron head version. These are copper BTW and very popular in race motors but work great on the street too. Maybe around $2.50 ...to $3.00 per plug |

I like ac delco r45ts, not sure if we are supposed to run the tapered seat or the gasketed, but the tapered works good in mine.

I'm with Webfoot. The good old trustworthy AC plugs are still the best. For a warmed engine like that I would use the R44s or R44ts depending on weather you have the tappered seat heads or flat seat. That is a little colder then the R45ts. The tappered or flat seat with a gasket must match the heads that you are useing. They changed from the gasket type to the tappered somewhere around 69-71.

autolites is what i use ,buddy of mine is using the e3 plug im waiting to see what they look like when he pulls them after putting some miles on

One more for AC Delco in my very slightly warmed 350 (.030 over, flattops, mild RV cam, Q-jet on an Edelbrock 2101, HEI). Pretty sure I have R44T plugs in it.

but on non daily driver toys i sometimes go with "ONSALE" brand plugs
