Re: headlights

Lots of guys use newer Jeep headlights in the 73-80's with the proper electrical upgrades. I'll try to find the thread on it for you.

Re: headlights

I just bought a set of Silver Stars, I think I paid like $24 a piece for them, but it was well worth the investment. Been in the truck now for like 6 years and not one problem.

Re: headlights

Get Hella e-codes from europe. Much better pattern/cut-off.

The DOT ones are not worth it, not to mention they have a weep hole in the bottom of them that lets in dust and water...

I've had four sets of e-codes over the years in various autos, and love them.

Re: headlights

Just made me think about headlights. I have never had a headlight go out in any of the 3 squares I have owned. 73- owned 21 years, 76 - owned 6 years, 83 owned 9 years. Of course, I drive mostly during the day, but still...

Re: headlights

Have heard nothing bad about silver stars from people I know running them. I know the hid and the jeep swap are badass but they both a pretty spendy that's for sure!

Re: headlights

I almost did the jeep swap, I like them a lot, but I dont like they're plastic lenses. I hate that about new cars. ive had to replace the ones on the focus twice now in 10 years.

I used to have the silverstars, they're a great simple upgrade, WAY better than standard halogens, but what i noticed about them vs the hellas, the glass in the hellas lenses are a lot less textured and dont diffuse or dim the light output like the sealed beams did.

the headlights i swapped out for the hellas in my thread above, were silverstars.
