71 chevy paint job help

hey im buying a 1971 c10 its not a cheyenne but i want to paint it like one. is that a no no? or can a plane jane custom 10 sport the same paint scheme and chrome of a cheyenne?

Once you buy the truck its yours. you can do whatever you please to it (without breaking any laws obviously)

I agree...paint it as you want....just remember you'll need the moldings for it to look the same and they are around 1000 for the set repro....

Also...I really like the look of your truck right now (the worn "patina" on the paint)

I agree the current paint looks great! it could look really nice with fresh wheels and fresh chrome or painted bumpers, with paint like that any piece of chrome you add will really pop

It's your truck and if you want to make it over, rock on!!! I gotta admit the same thought has crossed my mind a time or two. These trucks all look great, but those Two tone Cheyennes really look like a million!

the Two tone trucks are really saw after here in Calif 1 there different and they look clean as hell I have a 1972 3/4 ton i like to do it to and not add the chrome but a silver Pinstripping that looks like the side molding looks good

A custom could have come from the factory with that paint job. It is just that you would have had to order the upper and lower trim so most people just went with a custom deluxe or cheyenne at that point.

But to answer your Question, yes a custom could have that paint job.
