USA-1 plates by year?

I thought this would make a good thread. Please post pics of the different USA-1 and other dealer plates and the years that they are correct for.

1972: Didn't have a USA-1 plate. It was different. I have one of these as well, but don't have a pic right now.

I'm running a reproduction USA-1 tag on my K5 but I'm sure it's not the correct year. Would like to know what the 'correct' one would be.

Re: USA-1 plates by year?

In the upper left you can see the '71 USA-1 plate that came on a '71 I had. Near the center is another one I got around 1990. There's also a red GMC Truck one cut up and used to fill in some spots:

Thanks. For some reason something changed and it won't allow me do that. I tried everything and I think some of those links had the [IMG] at both ends and still only came up as links.

EDIT: You must have broken the spell. It's acting normal again...thanks?

Re: USA-1 plates by year?

So which would be period correct for 1970? I'm guessing the years overlapped.

Nope, every year from 68 to 72 are different. Different slogans and 1972 doesn't have a USA-1 tag. 67-68 are the same though. Trevor

Re: USA-1 plates by year?

I think the USA-1 plates are cool. I would run one on my truck except up here you would probably get a ticket for not running the correct front plate.

I didn't know they were year-specific.

Classic Parts has several versions of the USA-1 plate. http://www.classicparts.com/License-...oducts/949/1/0

I'd be curious which is which.

I had this one on my Impala in high school and now have one on my 72.

JUst because some others have posted some different dealer plates...

And yes... it's a legit stamped/embossed license plate from a dealership... My dad removed it from a vehicle in a junkyard back in the late 70s or early 80s... I've been running it for years. WOuld love to to have another one.
