The 88 Crew Cab build
I just started this. Let me know what you think. There is a bunch of work that still needs to be done but it's getting there.

Re: The 88 Crew Cab build
Are you running a D44 in the front? If so this is exactly what I am doing with my crew cab. I am doing all the body work now so it has taken me a while. I like the truck though it looks cool!

Yes Sir, it is a 44. It's a 3/4 ton model but the hub were gone when I got it, so I had to settle for 6 lug so I could drive it. I am currently looking for 8 lug hubs to carrie 1 spare ! |

Thank You !! I can't tell you how many times I have been HOOTED at, or been yelled at an an intersection !! These Crew Cabs are head turners for sure !! Your truck looks tough as well !! I like the wheels you have... how deep they are ! I am thinking of getting mine like that for the front. I was going for the Dodge 1 ton sled pullers when they take of the Dually adapters from the front and run a standard wheel, I think those look tough !! |

Re: The 88 Crew Cab build
The first Pic here is the 3 bolts that are up inside the front end on the 2 wheel drive front end. These are above the lower control arm engine side of the coil spring.
The second Pic is of the motor mounts on that cross member. I cut these out of the cross member and bolted them back in with those same 3 bolts on each side, this allows you to drop the oil pan off your engine with out any and I mean any problems at all !! Re: The 88 Crew Cab build
A few questions for the front shock cab mount/spring hangar what did you use a stock piece or aftermarket? the shock mounts look like they're riveted does that mean there already there to begin with? The shackle spring eye piece for the front rear shackles also look riveted in did you not have to bolt them in or am I missing something? and last question you said you cut the engine mounts out it then put them back in that confused me lol

I'm so sorry I should have said that those pic's of the measurements are from a friend on this forum. He went out and took those measurements for me from his 4x4 and sent them to me !! I'm such a dork ! And on the front end, when I dropped out the front end crossmember and all, I took a sawlz all and where the motor mount bolted to the cross member and cut that area out. I then mounted the motor mounts back to that peice that I cut and bolted them back to the frame of the truck. I think I have pic's of that I'll look for you. |

Re: The 88 Crew Cab build
Here is one pic that kind of shows it. I'll get better pic's when I get home tonight and load them for you. But I was able to drop the oil pan and not hit anything.

Here is a little better Idea of what I did. The line shows kinda what I cut off. This is the drivers side looking down the frame rail to the back to the truck. |
