Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

I was going to move your post from the truck parts board to this board, but since you posted another one here, I deleted your original one. Good luck!

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

You might be able to get something from M&H. http://www.wiringharness.com/

There is a trailer connector harness that might work, but it has a couple of extra wires.

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

I've got several OEM pigtails (from fuse block to top harness)
and one complete assy (all wires + plate). Need $20 on the
pigtails and $50 on the complete set-up. Free priority shipping.

Let me know your wishes guys...I'll post some pics later tonight
Thanks, ET

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

Thats great news! Thanks for responding. I would like to get first inline for the nicest pigtail you have for sure. I may be interested in the complete assembly if the plate is in better condition than mine. I will wait to see your photos. Thanks again.

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

OK. I've got two of the pigtails here at the shop and they both pretty
much look the same. I think I have more but will have to dig for them.

The assy's lettering has had better days but shows no hint of damage.

Your plate is in about the same condition mine is in. I will let you check your other pigtails and take the nicest one you have. Thanks again.

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

72 Blazer CST, you are in. PM me please or let this thread
run it's course. At any rate, you win the best I've got.

All of my pigtails were in about the same basic condition.

The insulation near the red plug was coated in black gunk,
which I removed, and all are the faded red you see. The origional
red might be able to be restored with further cleaning and vinyl paint.

I have not delved into the plugs terminals, so a good cleaning with
contact cleaner might be in order. The wires are not lumpy or overly
stiff so I think, if handled gently during install, they should be fine.

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

72 Blazer CST has tentative dibs on the other two single harnesses or the assembly
that included the fixtures...however we are waiting because I may have a restoration
kit (or, at least the lettering) in the works. I won't know until later this week.

As an aide to this endeavor; has anyone ever seen one of these junction backing
plates in NOS condition? All of the plates I have have a yellowish almond background.
I need to know if they started as almond or white or whatever in between.

Thanks for any help.

Dave, thanks for your interest but that assembly is on hold for now.
72 Blazer CST has first dibs on it. Please review the post just prior to yours.

Update: I saw a proof of a sticker for restoring the face on the junction plates today.
It was a bit off so I sent revisions and we shall see what happens from here.
Thanks for your patience!

Re: WTB - Single Wall Top Plug and Wiring

you can make a harness to plug into the top. all you need to do is splice the male end of a turn signal connection to dome light harness and it will plug right in.
