original headlight ?

Does anyone know what the original headlight bulb was for a 71
T3 or power beam

Probably the Guide T-3. Guide was the brand name for GM headlight bulbs and some of the other lighting products. The T-3 claim to fame was the three locating nibs on the outer edges of the bulb that helped to facilitate headlight aiming. You won't go wrong with it.

I have had some tell me that they stopped using the t3 in 70 and went to the power beam

My 72 had T3's in it. Pretty sure they were original.

Power beam. I have had 2 very low mile original trucks and they both had power beam.

My '71 has 3 T-3's remaining. I assume they are original.

Maybe GMC used T3's for 71, since they use the smaller headlight???

That's certainly a possibility. It would make sense to use up any remaining stock on hand.

I do believe the GMCs still used Guide T-3s. Most of my Chevys have been '71s and '72s and they had Power Beams.
