62 gmc burb exhaust

finally got pipes made up (except for "Y") anyone have a diagram, or drawing, or pics of their install showing clamps and piping runs. Nothing in assembly or maint manual showing V6 THANKS!!!!

We have the factory exhaust on our 66 panel. But its unfortunately a 283..

Hey bud, I will look for pics, but the factory Y on the V-6's ran from the pass. side to the drivers side very tightly under the oil pan between the crossmember and the drop down part of the oil pan. The pipe pretty much T'd into the driver side and then the exhaust ran down and exited on the driver side of the truck.

If you look closely, you will see the pass. side tube T-ing into the driver side tube and then it heads back from there. Hope this helps bud.

I agree with Cort. The Y pipe runs from the pass side to the drivers side along the cross member and joins just before the oil filter and carries to the drivers side center of the truck then out the back. I got a quote for $350 from one of the muffler shops to redo mine in 2 1/2 but in the same shape as stock. Don't know if thats to much or not anymore.

i know how the "Y" pipe runs, need one, either to copy or one made. I do need to know how the pipes are run and hung though.

wow just had them bent up locally for $75, but thanks for lookin out for me, found a place that will bend up the y pipe with donuts and flanges for $250 including shipping!
