69 - 70 Grill Letter question

I saw the post below, in an earlier thread that's talking about the grill letter decals they said they bought from classicparts.com were smaller then the recess that they go into.

Are all of the "catalog companies" selling the same small letters ?

Does anybody have a close-up picture of these to see how well they really fill in the recess ? . . . THANKS !!!

I don't think those letters are designed to go into the recess of the factory grills. Not sure when it was,but GM nitched any aftermarket grills with the Chevrolet in them, so the letters are designed to stick on the flat surfaces of the repo grills.

These came from Brothers and they fit in the recess very well, just take your time.I cleaned the grill with some denatured alcohol first.I put the tailgate set on also.

Re: 69 - 70 Grill Letter question

Thanks, gotchamel, yours DO look like they fit well when I blow them up - did you spray the area with soapy water and slide them in place ?
I did my tailgate letters like that when I first bought my truck 15 years ago and it worked fine.

I did not spray with soap, just took my time.Sounds like a good idea though.I did clean the letter area with a scotch-brite then wiped with alcohol. My plan was to mask and rattlecan, the masking proved to be challanging.
