Winch size?

I would like to mount a 12v winch inside my enclosed container to store my truck{c10 sb}.It would offer a more controlled circumstance than driving it in,its a snug fit.For rolling weight what is suggested? It will need to go up 8" ramps.Thanks.

Re: Winch size?

That shouldn't take much at all. I'd get one of the little ones, a 1500lb (ATV winch).

Re: Winch size?

Harbor freight has one on sale right now for $ 50 with the remote. It is a 2000lb. I was thinking of one for my trailer.

Re: Winch size?

I'd want a bit more muscle than 2000 for a trailer. You have to raise the truck a fair amount, sometimes the truck tires are flat, ground is soft, etc.

Re: Winch size?

Good point. That's probably why I haven't pulled the triugger on that one.

Re: Winch size?

Just bought a vertex magnetic drive 4000# for my trailor off ebay for $149 and free shipping. I would think that 4000 would do just about everything you need.
