78 & 79 hood questions

fairly new to the 73-86 trucks. Have to say i like the parts availability and price much better than trying to chase down 72-an older trucks.

I bought a very nicely loaded 78 2 wheel drive blazer. it was cheap and a few of the accessories are missing, found a parts truck 79 also loaded with options and rust!

The question is, did 78 blazer come with inside hood releases? Mine has the grille one and my parts truck has an inside one.

I want to do this one completely factory for 78. Kind of a budget restoration until my money gets right again and I will blow it apart and do a frame off.

I want to load this thing up. I will post a spid once i find my usb cable to show the list.

Thanks,
Steve

my 77 came with an inside hood release stock. it was just optional. you could get an inside release in 78, though my 78 doesnt have one. grandpa was cheap...lol

Re: 78 & 79 hood questions

Thanks guys, I did this , loaded up, my 67 swb 4x4 and I really like these later model trucks. Still to be honest am getting used to the styling compared to the older trucks. Everything else though is great, ride, handling, I fit behind the wheel better and much easier to get parts, bones's all around.

Question for my note book, what is the RPO code?

Thanks,
Again

Check with forum member Keith Seymore. He can probably give you the code you need.
