67-72chevytruck RACE TRUCK MEET UP
One of our board members NXtruck presented a great idea, a 67-72chevytrucks Race Truck meet up. The logistics of this though would be rather dificult. We have members all over this country and let's face it, we all tinker with our toys and our trucks don't always run. Soo, how can we make this work. Here are some ideas:
1) Post here if you have interest 2) Give us your location 3) Let's think of a central location based on interested members and have someone there give us input on tracks in the area. I don't think that this should be a shoot out or anything like that, just a friendly GTG with our trucks and line up with the friends we have made here. Who cares if the guy next to you is faster or slower. Have a BBQ going and some beers afterwards. I think trying to set it up for next spring/summer would be the best. It would give us all plenty of time to plan and make sure things are together. So, who has interest?

Re: 67-72chevytruck RACE TRUCK MEET UP
It would be a fun gig for sure... but the haul will probably count me out. I have a hard time hauling 100 to speedworld,, in fact this year I've apparently had a hard time even hauling 32 miles to Firebird!!

Re: 67-72chevytruck RACE TRUCK MEET UP
Jackson, Mo. here. I'm definitely interested, depending on the location. I know some will have a lot farther drive than others, and I'm not sure the best way to work around this fact. Anyone have any location suggestions?

Re: 67-72chevytruck RACE TRUCK MEET UP
Im in Raleigh, NC. I'd love to bring both of our suburbans to race, even though they would be like 16 second passes, it's just great to hang out with like-minded people.

Re: 67-72chevytruck RACE TRUCK MEET UP
That would be a cool GTG. I have to haul out long distances anyway...I'm at Speedworld in AZ a lot (next closest track to Famoso for me), ironically, I can't run my car at any of my nearby tracks.

So for a southwestern event...... Looks like here is two votes for Speedworld. I would suggest sometime between November and April. (aka... < 100°) I'll start nosing around the calander. Or,, I believe Truckin Magazine still holds the Truckin Nationals at Firebird (Az,, sorry Valdez) That would open up the show circuit AND the 1/4 mile track to a get together. Just a thought,, Don't they hold those all over the US?

Re: 67-72chevytruck RACE TRUCK MEET UP
I know organizing something like this wont be easy, nor will every one be able to make it, and not everyone will be happy about the location/not being able to make it.
One event is bad as it locates it more central US which means us east coast / west coast guys need to drive a longer distance. Three events means that if we want to meet everyone and or at least a higher percentage, we would have to drive to two or all three events. That puts way more driving in for those individuals. 3R!c84, where exactly are you in FL? Trying to figure that out, but I keep getting bagel shops DBMX, what City are you in? I think DBMX and 68C10 are the two that are the furthest north (so far) and they are both on oposite coasts. I was originally thinking somewhere near Wichita KS, but googling it, 68c10 would be going 1,765 miles from Portland, Miami is only 1,582, and New Jersey is only 1,375. So a little more west might be more "fair" so to speak. Although, is it ok to ask one person to drive a little more so others can drive less? This is what really makes it tricky, making it fair and fun to all.
