Anyone know what these connectors or wires are?

I'm restoring an 85' K10, originally a V6 now a 350. I can't figure out what these 2 connectors or these 4 wires went to, the PO has hacked this thing beyond belief, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Anyone know what these connectors or wires are?

What year is your truck? Also, did it used to have a computerized quadrajet and now just a standard carburetor? If so, it is likely that it went to the factory carb.

On my truck I have a couple pig tails like that which were used to connect the factory carb, distributor, knock sensor, and oxygen sensor to the ECM.

Do the tail/stop lights work? Looks like a tail light connector.

It's a 1985, was the V6 motor. Tail light work perfect...doesn't mean theyre hooked up right though...I'll check that.

That would be my guess as well. I have an 85 C10 with a pigtail connector like that near where the AC would have been installed.

Look like distributor wires from the previous engine. No need for them now, because it seems you switched over to a non-computer controlled HEI distributor.

First one looks like a cruise control connector, the rest... I'd have to look at my own I guess.

I'm going to say A/C on the first pic and Ignition/distributor wires on the second.

sorry i missed the v-6 but, the computer controlled engines had a connector similar to the larger one that when to the distributer and on the v-8s the computer controled carbs had a seems like a three wire connector and a two wire connector. I've never messed with a v-6 from this era so i'm not sure but i'm sure it was something similar to the computer controlled stuff hookups, lots of junk under the hoods in the 80's.

Re: Anyone know what these connectors or wires are?

I've been messing with old cars/trucks for fifty years and every one I bring home seems to have extra wires someplace. Disconnect the battery and put a trace on them to see where they connect on the other end. If they're not doing anything, clip them out and relax.

Re: Anyone know what these connectors or wires are?

Yea I was going to guess the first one went to the carb maybe and the second looks like AC connectors maybe.
