For those of you that replaced the door bottom

did you also replace the door skin, whole or in part? What method did you use and how much of the inner bottom did you use? I was thinking about not messing with the outer skin it looks pretty good but I have'nt gotten the bottom off to look at the skin. I ground the "flaps" off of the skin and grond out the spot welds I figured if I leave the outer skin I will cut some small strips to weld back on to the skin. Just kinda wondering what others are doing there or have done there. Jim

Re: For those of you that replaced the door bottom

In my case I had to fix the outer bottom and the inner bottom, which I bought the repair panels to fix it.What I did was only repaired the rusted places because the repair panels covered a lot of area that was good and there was no need to cut out the good metal.I just cut the panels down to what I needed.

I'm doing this now but I also have to replace the outer skins. I'm replacing the whole outer skin. My inner door bottoms were pretty badly rusted so I'm using most of the replacement panel
