Interested in what the answer here is. I'm sure installation is not too bad, but making it work...?
I bet everyone has a different start routine, especially those of us still running older motors. I know I pump the pedal 2 times on a cold engine and a warm day and it starts right up, but 3 pumps and a few cranks on a cold day. If the engine is already warm, then it's a different process entirely. Unless the remote starter could give 3 pumps on the pedal before turning the starter, it would never work for me.

Re: Remote Start?

I knew someone who did it on his 72' 442. He used an unused channel on the alarm to cycle a relay that controlled an actuator which pumped the accelerator and set the choke. I'll try and find out what type of actuator he used and where to buy it from.

Re: Remote Start?

I own a car audio shop in Fresno. I am currently looking into this myself. As dcasalena has stated every truck may have a different starting routine. Mine you also have to pump the gas twice. There are a lot of variables involving the carb. The over all answer is yes this is possible. I'll be working on this within the next month or two. I believe it can be accomplished with out having to pump the gas, but I will have to play with my carb some to see if I can achieve this.

Re: Remote Start?

He said he used a solenoid from trombetta http://www.trombetta.com/solenoids-products.cfm?id=14 (doesn't remember which one) and used the aux channel on the remote to actuate it. Once the choke was set and the engine started he could hit the aux channel again to get it off of the fast idle cam, worked like a charm. This video isn't his install but very similar.
