Aftermarket hoods any good??

Just looking for some input on aftermarket hoods. I have a orignal hood but needs alot of work. Do the aftermarket hoods fit well? Thinking of LMC cowl hood. Or should I put the body work into mine? Thanks

Re: Aftermarket hoods any good??

I'm not real sure on the hoods but aftermarket body parts ant great and are not like the original. Maybe look for a good used one?

Re: Aftermarket hoods any good??

We have had great luck with our cowl hoods. They are on several trucks around here including the Garden Truck and my old GMC Duramax. WES

My GoodMark Cowl Hood fit great with no problems. I'd recommend New Hinges to go along with it

Re: Aftermarket hoods any good??

I have a Tri plus cowl hood on my Longhorn and it fit very nice! It's built really well too!

I have never heard any thing bad about the fit of cowl hoods.

Re: Aftermarket hoods any good??

Fix your stock one and make it a cowl hood. Then you have an all steel one. I am kicking around doing this to mine.

You have to watch it. I've seen some that were so horrible, they never should have been primed let a lone installed and put on a street. Make sure you buy from a reputable dealer.

I was going to too. But for the time it takes to do it and purchase the complete done cowl hood, to me it isn't worth jacking with. My hood was $400. I'm not the best body man so I know body mods will take me longer. I try to minimize the body work so I can spend the time fabbing and building the extra stuff.

Re: Aftermarket hoods any good??

I just put one on my truck and it was a chore get it to fit "right". It was a triplus hood overall not too bad, but be ready to slice and dice for a really good fit
