Crossover high mount steering
So I have been collecting parts for high mount and crossover steering. To date I have left and right steering knuckles machined with studs and arms for high mount and crossover steering tie rod end style. I have a 2wd steering gear. My question is other then drag link and tierod from ord, is there a budget build parts list stock stuff I guess for pitman arm, tierod ends? I would guess you would use 1 tone stuff but not sure? Any part numbers or info would be great. Btw this is for a 71 k5

Re: Crossover high mount steering
WFO Concepts near Sacramento has everything you need and has great customer service and better prices for hard parts, google it.
Do you have a D44 or D60? I used 1ton TREs and WFO stearing arms & links. On a D60 I have seen guys use the stock tierod but most step up to bar links like what ORD & WFO can provide...it is the better option. Don't want failur in your steering thats fer sure!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Crossover high mount steering
Ok next question then can you run cross over and high mount with stock height untill lifted? I need to replace ball joints soon and my extra set of knuckles is set up for high mount and crossover the lower holes were drilled out from the last guy so need them to be high mount also.

Re: Crossover high mount steering
I have highsteer and use 4" lift springs in front and mine BARELY fit/cleaerd...not sure if you can run a highsteer setup on stock lift. Call the experts at WFO...they are very helpful..just sayin they would have an idea on the miniumum space needed..
