Re: pics of slammed/bagged stepsides?
I too have a 1973 c10 however its just a rolling chassis at this point, going to drop a '61cab on it(gonna get it fabbed)....Does any one know of any issues of dropping a '73?
One person told me that you "can't lower it as low as a '65 to '72"....So before I put $ into lowering it I want to know for sure... Thanks, el_bole |

The big limiting factor here is the stepside bed. They do present thier own unique challenges to get really low.

Re: pics of slammed/bagged stepsides?
Thanks N2TRUX,
I thought it was all BS just dont want to spend a bunch of time and $ and have a half a$$ lowering job. I am going to use an older stepside bed ('55-'66) on the truck. Will this be an issue? I want 5" out back and 3" in the front (drop spindles/lowering springs)...Down the road I would possibly bag it and want to lay frame with it. Thanks again for the info... elbole Down t Quote:

Re: pics of slammed/bagged stepsides?
el_bole, a 5" drop in the rear is cake. Once you go to bags that when you start running in to issue with fender clearance. I am no expert on steppers, just passing on what I have read here.

The front I'm not familiar with those generation trucks, but I'm assuming they don't have ridiculously low cross member like the squares have. |

It was an email sent to me by the leader of a truck club so maybe I did misunderstand but he suggested taking the disc brake components(crossmember) and putting it on a '60's frame so I'd be able to lower it, meaning the 60's frame was more lowerable(is that a word?). I dont want to go through all that hassle, and you are right in your assumption the cross member is not super low. However there is a hug "dip" in the middle of it.....Im just happy that I can lower that sucker as low as I wanna LOL... thanks, elbole P.S. one day I want a square body truck I think they are way cool, what do you think of an '86? Might get a early seventies junker and put '86 clip on it(NO SMOG) Th |

Well I'll tell you what, my 84 cab is shot. I picked up a complete 78 to piece out and I couldn't get myself to do it. Now I have two projects. Both front clips are great looking! |

Here mine. Bagged. Pancaked the crossmember. 10" axle notches in the rear. Soon to be cupping the bags in the control arms to get a couple more inches south in the front. I have miles of room to play with in the rear. Only 15s on it though
