trucky finaly stoped today dead 4l80e

i was on my way home in my 95 k2500 chevy, i had stopped in the store to get something to drink. come back out start the truck and start to take off. i get to about 25mph and notice the tach is at almost 3000rpm. so i stop and check the trans fluid. the fluid is full and the trans gauge says 120f. so i kill the truck and sit for a while thinkinh maby the selunoids were just hot. so i sit for about 10mins and start it back up let it idle and put it in to gear start to go down the road and still it wount shift. so i stop agin and let it cool off more. almost 20min later start it up idle a lil bit and put it in drive. when i put it in drive it hammers down real bad. i shifted it into gear at 900rpm so i know it wasn't idled up to high. as i start to go the truck is very very slugish. i had to put my foot in it to get it to barley move. i had no choice i had to hoble it home in first gear. and home is 20miles away. i felt so sick it was like having to whipe a child to same them from death. i get home and park the truck. its sitting outside in the garauge now. i got to get her fixed but it looks like it will be a while till i get the money to rebuild her. but does any body have any clue what it may be plez i need her going agin and fast. also the other day i noticed while driving it would drop in and out of overdrive and the tach and the speedo would wig out. thanx

I'd check the tps, and speed sensor. it's gotta be somthing electrical/sensor related.

Where is Whitney? I have a '95 model 4L80E in my shop that I took out of a running/driving truck. Email me at 81vette4speed@suddenlink.net.

whitney is 7miles west of hisbero i am taking the truck to aamco in waco. i dont have the computer to run the diegnostics on the truck. i know for a fact that the selonoid is out this wasn't the first time it hassent shifted on me. and i have been needing a rebuild on the trans for a while. she's 298k on her. and a lot of thos are pulling mile's. when we first got it in 2000 she had 32k on it. we used it to haul a goose neck with counter waits for the 75ton on it. and you know this is the first time we ever have to put money in it. we got the truck for a $1000 and turned around and put it on payroll and got all our money back on it.

My favorite kind of truck - one that pays for itself again and again.
Good luck, hope it turns out to be something simple and/or inexpensive.
