Lost the pitman shaft nut.

So, I was on here some time ago asking about a part to my steering box where the rag joint connects because I turned it in with my core steering box. I got help here about where to get a replacement. So here I am returning to the well to see if anyone knows where I might be able to find a nut that holds the pitman arm on the steering box shaft. Thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this!

Re: Lost the pitman shaft nut.

Are you talking about the cotter pin nut the goes underneath the pitman closest to the gear box? http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?page=137

the pitman arm is in top pic, on bottom right. the nut that is farthest to the right, is that what you need? Looks to be a cotter pin nut. Maybe Ace Hardware or another hardware store has what you need. If the shaft is removeable, take it with you so the people at the hardware store can figure out the nut size. Hope this helps.

If it is the other end, the nut and washer can be ordered.

Re: Lost the pitman shaft nut.

Thank you. I never would have thought to look at LMC for that particular item. I'm glad you did.
