72 am/fm radio 8.5/10,$400,Tyler TX

As the title says, I have an AM/FM radio for sale. It is the original equipment to my 72. It plays well but has a little static or crackle in the volume knob. As well the am/fm slide has to be just off of the stop. I am sure either of these items would be easy to have repaired for minimum cost or lived with as I have for the 10 years I have owned the truck. There are a few minor imperfections in the bezel. Please see the attached pictures. It is still installed so it will take me a couple of days to ship. I am looking for $400 paypal. That is a shipped in the US(lower 48) price. Locals get a $25 discount for a cash and carry deal. It will include all knobs and hardware. Thanks Darrin [ATTACH]Name: DSC03329.jpg

I will trade you a 71 402 standard bore long block that is ready for rebuild. Also have a nice set of never used BBC long tube headers that are ceramic coatedas well as a set of rally wheels.

That is a GREAT price for a truck AM/FM that is functioning.

Dead Head the wiring pigtale or plug is included as well as any brackets that are currently in there. As I said before it is still installed so everything that I remove will go with it. No speakers are included, however. I am waiting on a response from one person ahead of you. Let me PM him and see if he is passing.

Darrin:

Any way I can talk you into including the speaker as part of the deal? My speaker is toast.

If Pete and you can not work out a deal I will accept your offer of headers plus $100. Here are pics. I would like to bring the headers to you for inspection and hear the radio play. Thanks KT

Re: 72 am/fm radio 8.5/10,$400,Tyler TX

Deadhead the original speaker in my truck is junk as well. This is currently hooked to a pair of 4.25" pioneers sitting behind my seat. I believe $350 for the radio is fair without a speaker.

Can anyone help me with the forum rules on this? I don't want to do something wrong.

deadhead has said interested BB72 has accepted a offer we had talked about earlier. Gentlemen whats the right thing here?

Just an FYI, make sure that the speakers that you are using are 8ohm. Otherwise, the radio will fry. Nice AM/FM, though. It'll be a nice addition to someone's ride.

Do you know if it can be modified for a regular speaker? Isn't it a mono only radio?

RanchFlyer we can try to meet up Monday and you can check out the headers and I can check out the radio if that is ok.

KT

Re: 72 am/fm radio 8.5/10,$400,Tyler TX

Kevin I will PM you my phone number and we can get together. As for how you want to hook it up the safest thing is to run 8 ohm as pointed out earlier. At lower impedance (4 ohm) the speakers can ask for too much power from the radio's internal amp. This can result in overheating components and release of the magic smoke. I can tell you however this radio has been powering 2 4.25 speakers 4 ohm wired parallel for years.

disclaimer from my legal dept.: I am by no means an expert. I am not suggesting that any one do as I have.
