Transmission mount bolts

Anybody know if the bolts that thread the tranny mount to the tranny are different between a older Turbo 350 transmission, and a newer Turbo 350? The newer one is a 1985 model with the electrical kickdown. I took the new transmission mount off the newer tranny and was going to put it on the older 350 but the bolts would only screw in about 5 turns. I just assumed they would be the same. I guess not. Anybody?

Re: Transmission mount bolts

5 turns is a long way to go in if it were metric. I'd say take a wrench and try to run it on up.

Re: Transmission mount bolts

Don't want to strip it. I had one side helicoiled already during the rebuild. The bolts work fine in the other tranny. I'm thinking different bolt size. Both the bolt hole, and the bolts are course thread, so, I don't know.
