WIW: Take 2--96 Z
Going to try this again. Just wondering what my truck might be worth. 96 Z71 ext cab 3rd door w/ 210K on the odo. Pretty much loaded w/ maroon leather and power everything. F44 option code truck if that makes much of a difference. This year I have put close to $13K in this truck in body work, 6" RCX, tires, and mechanicals. I have this posted on CL for $8K. I'm getting a ton of hits with people wanting to trade, and not some of them are decent trades. I would rather sell so I can put the money toward buying a Tahoe or Yukon for the baby that is going to be here in November. Can't get 3 car seats in the extended cab. Just wondering if I am out of line. Thanks all!

Thats the joy of buliding something, never get your money back. I think 5k is about right and in the area I live you would be very lucky to get that. Its a nice truck I would love to have one that nice. Maybe try the WIW section...... But, you can get 3 car seats in there as long as you have no passanger air bag and the lady will sit in the middle center.

Re: WIW: Take 2--96 Z
Seems fair to me for pricing. Especially if you have receipts for work....if you can not prove work, then it is a $5-6k truck with that mileage. I would be a buyer, if it was what I was looking for, at the asking price, but would then low ball you and see where we would meet in the middle
If I were you, I would not trade it for anything - You would get the short end of the deal. Hold out for the money you need, but if you get someone serious at $7k, then I would take it. Good luck.

Re: WIW: Take 2--96 Z
I just paid 7k for a 1998 like the one you have, but I do not have leather. I think it is worth the 8k you are asking. It would sell, in Tn, for that if you had all the documentation to back up what you spent.

Re: WIW: Take 2--96 Z
I've got receipts for everything big that was done, but didn't keep track of some of the small stuff that I don't even consider as part of what I spent. I have basically decided that I'm not overly interested in a trade unless I trade up for the newer SUV I want. Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. Now I just need one of the tire kickers that wish they had the money to fall into some.

You might be able to squeeze three in the back if one or two of them are just boosters. The problem is depth. The newborn seat will only fit in the middle unless you scoot the seat it's behind WAY forward. I've had two in there but not three.

Re: WIW: Take 2--96 Z
in my area thats a 10-12k dollar truck. lifts are everything up here, a new LTZ silverado is at about 35k if that puts into perspective how well these trucks hold their value up here.
