C-Notch
How hard is it to do one. I would be doing it with the bed on the truck. Any suggestions on which kit to buy? I want a bolt on one and then I will tach weld it after installing it.

Re: C-Notch
Look at my build thread. I did a CCP kit and it was pretty easy. I'm sure it can be done with the bad on but might be more difficult with lack of room to move...

Re: C-Notch
It's worth the time to take the bed off.

Re: C-Notch
I plan to do mine with the bed on this winter. There is a cross member under the bed that is close to the frame. I will use a cut off wheel to cut as much if it as I can. Then use a sawzall to cut what the cut off wheel can't reach. If that doesn't work I will use a hack saw. I want to have another piece of metal welded to the side of the c-notch. I want it to be stronger. I have leaf springs, and I believe there is a lot of pressure on the frame.

Re: C-Notch
Taking the bed off isn't a good option for me. I have no where to put it and I don't want to scratch the paint taking it off.

Post #4 was my install. Stepside with the bed on. CPP notch, but don't use the instructions to position it over the axel. Easy money. |

Re: C-Notch
I installed a CPP bolt in notch in my 2wd blazer. It took me about 4hrs to do both sides. It would have been easier with the body off, but obviously that was not really an option.

Re: C-Notch
Porterbuilt makes a good bolt in notch.... call Nate and talk to him about it. MUCH better to deal with than CPP.
Can you just jack the bed up so you can get under it?

I don't mind taking a little longer to do it since the bed will be on just don't want to start then find out I can't. I have the long bed and have looked with the wheels off and it looks like I have plenty of room. I really don't know if I'm going to c-notch it yet though just trying to get some info on it.
