Probably a dumb question...but.

This may be a dumb question but my 66 has a 327 in it from the factory with manual steering. So my question is that in order to make it power steering, could i just look for a power steering pump, brackets, lines, etc from a car or does it have to be from a truck? And could it even be from a 350? Again, probably a dumb question but whatever help I can get would be helpful.

Yes, yes, yes, no, yes....and not really.

Vintage is more important than application on that one.

Well I can get brackets pump and all the equipment needed for a car. That is why i am asking if they will bolt up to a truck or not.

They should , get the whole 9 yards and make sure that if it needs the head bolt holes to mount up that you do in fact have them.... making PS work with existing alt etc could be tricky unless you can see that the donor vehicle has the same brackets...

Re: Probably a dumb question...but.

Assuming that your 327 is completely original, you will need the PS pump, brackets and pulleys from a '72 and earlier truck or a '68 and earlier car. Those years are compatable with a short water pump small block without heads with accessory holes. And yes parts from a 350 will work, as well as parts from a 283 or 307. If by chance someone has changed the water pump to a long one, then you will need to do a little fabricating unless the heads are '68 and newer.
