Swing open tailgates?
Ive seen this on some trucks at shows where the gate swings open like a door instead of folding down. Wondering how its done. Any of you guys ever do this?

Kind of like the old station wagons. They were able to do both. Swing open or fold down. really cool stuff.

It would take some work, but as Mac says, I'd find an old Impala wagon (or one of the GM sisters) and check out the hardware.

Re: Swing open tailgates?
You could get the hinges aand latch from a newer van or suburban, and cut your tailgate in half. It would require some serious fab work, but it would be awesome.
