Factory bullet hole wheels

Found a set of the chevy aluminum bullet hole wheels at a very good price. Are they a factory option on a 78 blazer>

Shoot forgot to see if they were 5 lug! My blazer is a 2 wheel drive.

Trying to load up my beater and if they were an option in 78 I will buy them.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Factory bullet hole wheels

Gotta pic?

There was a factory aluminum wheel (at one point forged and another point cast), in both 5 lug and 6 lug configurations, that was an option on our trucks.

Re: Factory bullet hole wheels

PH7 is the RPO for them. They were available starting in 1979, but only on the Street Coupes, after that they were available on the pickups, so I wouldn't doubt you could get them on the 2WD Blazers...

Here is a pix, they won't work for me because my 78 is 2 wheel drive. I still thought they were cool

Nope - pickups too.

I think folks tended to "option up" the Blazers and Burbs more than pickups, hence you see them on those more often.

Re: Factory bullet hole wheels

I see those on the "G" vans here in so cal in the junkyards..usually they are scratched and curbed like a mutha...I think they would look cool if they made an 8" wide version for the back...maybe with some spacers on the back, to kick the tires our a little?

I agree, just wish they would've made them 8" wide.

Re: Factory bullet hole wheels

Did GM make a factory aluminum wheel for the 3/4 ton 4x4's? I have some unmarked aluminum wheels that came on my truck that are similar to these, but not the same.

No. That almost looks like a Ford wheel...

(oops. Sorry - no offense meant. Probably some kind of aftermarket wheel).

No offense taken. It does look like the Ford Alcoa wheels, but the way the lug nuts are set so far into the wheel is different. These wheels aren't stamped anywhere, and I would really like to find out what they are. I love them, too bad they're only 8" wide. I'll use them with my next set of tires, they should be narrower.

I always thought the newer wheel pictured here was inspired by the older aluminum wheels.
