Poor cab support fitment

Hi all, heres a few pics of my problem. The first 2 are the drivers side, the second 2 are the passenger side.Im not sure there is supposed to be that wide gap at the rocker/cab corner I was told this is normal and it is generally filled with seam sealer. The drivers side is all around poor fit.Maby its poor cab corner fitment ?

Let me know your thoughts please.

Thanks,
Ed

Re: Poor cab support fitment

looks like your drivers side lower rocker is bent a little at the back, sealing up the gap...

you might want to do 2 different things, seal it up completely so no dirt/water can get in and rust it out, or make the gap a little bit bigger so that dirt will not have a chance to build up in there....
most originals that I get into that are not rusted, are packed full of dirt.

Re: Poor cab support fitment

I went thru all of my pics to find you a good one. I didn't find a good one for comparison, but I found this one.

It looks like the drivers is but welded to the inner rocker. It's hard to tell, but I don't see a flange like on the pass side.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the gap along the bottom of the support where it meets the rocker. The gap like Jon said will definately keep stuff from building up.

Re: Poor cab support fitment

I did seam seal as many joints as possible. No, it's not factory. The factory's plan for corrosion protection didn't work very well. I also used an inner rocker spray that is a waxy substance to help on the inside. I also use weld thru primer on all the welds.
