Re: 68/2000 gmc seat swap?
It’s been covered a few times...They are almost bolt in. I removed the brackets attached to the sliders and some of the holes lined up. Since these have built in seat belts its important that you reinforce the mounting points under the cab. If you were to get into an accident, the seats could rip through the floor. This puts your life in danger and, not to seem morbid, the insurance company could deny any claims.

Re: 68/2000 gmc seat swap?
I tried it on my 70 once never got past the test fit stage. I am a little larger than most[6'2 380ish] and there was little room between the seat and the wheel. Now if you are smaller than me and if you have a tilt probably works fine. I've seen it done and fhere are lots of pics on here of that very thing. Also, my 68 GMC has [had] a 16 1/2 inch wheel on it. I think in 69 they went to a 15 inch wheel because the 70 I drove on friday has a lot more room than my 68 did both ways ,between the seat and wheel and between the driver and wheel. What I am saying is I measured the wheel to dash on a67and a68 and it sticks out farther than the ones from later trucks that Imeasured. The later ones had not been thru the "shorting" proceedure

Can you install the late model seat in a truck with gas tank in cab? Just curious for the guys who have done this if the gas tank had to be relocated?

No need to relocate the tank, the seat will hit the back of the cab before the tank.
