Finally Getting some Color

My Blazer has been in body/paint since April (Guy works fulltime at a collision shop and is doing mine on the side). Finally to the point that some color is going on it - 514 red. he's hoping to have it completed around the 14th. Except for the rockers, the top of the windshield corners repair, and a small metal patch in the right quarter behind the passenger door, the Blazer has all its original sheetmetal. Here are a few photos:

Re: Finally Getting some Color

Looking good. Looks like a dark orange in the picture. A little darker color than mine. Sharp.

Only in paint jail since April?? That's a short time to come a long way. Not bad. Sure feels good though to see it like that.
Takes me alot longer to finish one to that degree working on my own if it needs alot of repair.

Re: Finally Getting some Color

Thanks. It does look pretty orangish under the florescent lights. I haven't seen it under natural light yet. Took me about 3-4 months to tear it down to get it ready to take over to him. I hope to have it back together by next spring/summer. I've been working on restoring the bits and pieces while it has been gone.

Re: Finally Getting some Color

Thanks. Not sure on the side trim yet. I won't get it back together until next spring so I'll have to decide by then.

Re: Finally Getting some Color

I like the color, but it looks more Orange than Red. I am going for a OSU Beaver Orange/ Hugger Orange look and I am wondering if the stuff you are using is what I am looking for, or if your paint is actually more Red than what is pictured.

Re: Finally Getting some Color

It is not as orange looking as it appears in the photos; it is a very bright red. I have a hugger orange shortbed 4X4 which is right next to it in the garage. They are very different in color. The pickup has its cover on, but one of these days soon, I'll take it off and see if I can get a photo that catches part of both. I am putting the Blazer back together slowly but surely.

Re: Finally Getting some Color

Both are beautiful rigs... looks like the Blazer should hit the home stretch this winter.

Re: Finally Getting some Color

Thanks much all. It has been driving me nuts because even though I am retired, I have been working steadily, seven days a week, on some house remodeling since September. Consequently, I have only worked on it for about 6 days since it came home. I hope to have the house project done by Christmas and after the first of the year, I plan on going full bore on it. I have been talking to it every time I go in the garage to get some tools
