Fuel Tank Swap
I'm not finding some specific information I need on fuel tanks. Right now I have a '72 K10 with an in-cab tank and an aux reserve tank. The reserve tank is very small and made of plastic. The aux fill tube is mounted behind a small metal door mounted under the belt line behind the driver door.
I want to swap to a larger capacity saddle tank to be used as my primary tank. I hope to make use of the fuel door that is already there for the reserve tank. I really don't want to do any cutting, the paint is original. So my specific questions - 1. Will a saddle tank fit the 4wd with leaf springs? 2. Is it possible to hook up the saddle tank to the existing filler mounted below the belt line? Thanks. |

Re: Fuel Tank Swap
Edit: Turns out I was wrong, the secondary tank I have is a metal 16 gallon capacity. Were there any larger saddle tanks or was that it?
If that's as big as they come I'll just add a second tank on the passenger side. |
