LCA Cross Shaft Question

Hey guys, I tried searching and couldn't find my answer, so I'm hoping you can help. I'm in the middle of doing my disc brake swap on my 65 C-10 and when I removed the LCA's to paint them, the cross shaft spun freely. The donor truck I have 72 c-10, the cross shafts don't really spin at all. Which way is right? More than likely I'm going to replace them, but want to be sure I'm doing this right and don't over tighten or what have you. Thanks so much in advance.

Re: LCA Cross Shaft Question

The two have different types of bushings. The early ones were solid and had a little slop and the later ones had a rubber bushing that dampened the ride and were bolted in tight.

Re: LCA Cross Shaft Question

Thanks for the info PGSigns. So that would explain why one spun with ease and the other was pretty tight. So, I suppose it would be best to use the later ones for a better ride?
